In November 2007, J&A (International) Ltd were presented with A British safety Council Sword Of Honour following a ceremony at the Historic Goldsmiths' Hall, London. The Sword Of Honour scheme, now in its 28th year, recognises organisations that have implemented safety systems that are amongt the best in the world.

J&A have recently launched a beautiful, versatile range of garment films for plotter cutting.
The Pro-Seal Verso films, as the name implies, are extremely versatile in their use - easy to cut, easy to weed, easy to apply but hard to damage in the wash!
A mild adhesive "tack" between the film and release carrier enables very fine detail to be cut & weeded with ease.
Despite being lightweight and stretchy, the films give good opacity on dark garments and can even be ironed and dry-cleaned once applied.

 J&A have recently been nominated winners in the East Midlands Region for our achievements in exporting our range of heat seal badges and transfers. Companies were judged on a wide range of criterea such as training, sensitivity and promotion.

New Offices for J&A • Date   01-10-2002

November saw the completion of the second phase of our £1.1 million building and expansion programme, with the construction of a new 7,000 sq ft. office block, which will be linked to our existing offices.



Phase 1 Now complete - Purchase of premises and partial refurbishment of factory including a substantial investment in new machinery to improve speed and efficency.

Phase 3 - Now started - Completion of the refurbishment and re-organisation of the factory and existing offices to further improve productivity, delivery times and service.
 
Short-listed for Water Efficiency Award • Date   24-08-2002

J&A were recently short-listed for the Environment Agencies Water Efficiency Award for successes in minimising water consumption and wastage. The company has installed a waterless urinal system and an automated screen-cleaning machine that recycles most of the water used. Following the installation of this equipment, the plant’s water consumption has been reduced by 69% and wastewater charges reduced by 93%.
 
Lincolnshire Environment Award • Date   24-08-2002

David Bellamy recently presented J&A with the Lincolnshire Environment Award for our efforts in reducing chemical wastage. Reed beds have been installed at the rear of the factory that purify the wastewater in the drainage. Down at the roots of the reeds, by a process of natural selection, a colony of bacteria grows that simply eats the company’s waste products, and cleans the water.

J&A (International) Ltd has recently won the prestigious Five Star Award from the British Safety Council, one of the worlds leading independent work place safety bodies. Following a comprehensive health and safety management audit, organisations are awarded between one and five stars depending on the effectiveness of their health and safety systems. Every aspect of the work place is examined from fire control systems and first aid provision to waste management and hygiene. J&As Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Manager, Warren Fothergill, is delighted that the company has been recognised for all the effort put in on health and safety issues.
 
Test Your Pressure, Sir? • Date   01-05-2002

Following much research and development, J&A have produced a lightweight, hand-held pressure-testing device for checking heat seal machines. There are three critical parameters in the heat-sealing process – time, temperature and pressure. It is relatively straightforward to determine the first two but the problem with measuring pressure has been to develop a probe slim enough to not actually change the pressure being measured. This new piece of equipment is believed to be unique and enhances J&As image as the experts in garment decoration by helping to bring a little science to the art of heat sealing.
