Description
We will shortly have a work placement available for a marketing student/graduate or professional with relevant experience.
It is anticipated that the work placement will start approx mid April, 2010 and last for in the region of 3-6 months. The successful candidate will work normal office hours in our modern, well equipped offices in Spilsby.
J&A is a well established manufacturer of a wide range of garment decoration products currently sold into leisurewear, sportswear, industrial workwear and safetywear markets throughout the world.
The project will be to review existing products and a range of new products currently under development for inclusion in a new 'safetywear marketing campaign'.
Products will include: hi-vis garments; printed transfers; reflective badges; helmet stickers; encapsulated badges; hi-vis arm bands and ID card holders.
Duties will include: familiarisation with the product range; identification of the optimum market place; compilation of a customer prospect list; identification of the most effective marketing media; creation and preparation of samples, marketing packs, leaflets, brochures, electronic data, etc; launch of the new range and follow up activities.
Throughout the project, you will work closely with the Divisional Director and the Sales and Marketing Director of the Garment Decoration Division. You will also have access to the Business Development Director and the in-house Webmaster to discuss ideas and help you to move the project forward.

Description
Operator required to cut and trim printed transfers on a Wohlenberg guillotine. Accuracy and attention to detail will be essential to ensure a quality finished product, as well as an ability to work under pressure to meet despatch deadlines. Responsibilities will also include the final inspection, counting and packing of finished transfers and making them ready for despatch. When experienced, the Operator will also have the opportunity to learn other duties within the Department.
Experience in a similar role or as a machine operator in another environment would be an advantage, although full training will be given as necessary. Minimum Age to operate guillotine: 18
Hours: In the first instance will be 39 hrs per week 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 9.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Friday, but it is anticipated that this will soon change to a regular pattern of 39 hrs per week on alternating shifts
Week 1: 6.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. Mon-Thurs, 6.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. Friday.
Week 2: 2.00 p.m. - 10.00 p.m. Mon-Thurs, 1.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. Friday.

Description
Printers' Assistant required to work in a small department producing screen printed transfers. Main duties will include preparation of screens and checking finished transfers as well as learning how to use the guillotine to provide cover when required and to generally assist with a range of duties in a fast moving print department.
The preparation of screens will involve some lifting and the successful applicant will need to be happy working to meet production deadlines on a regular basis. (Minimum Age 18 to work on the guillotine).
Hours: 7.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. Friday. |
